White gloss porcelain cardinal on a branch. Sculpted by Krobek for Goebel’s Wildlife Series, West Germany, 1969.
Most CV 111 cardinals left the factory painted red. This one didn’t. The white finish is the less common version — quieter, more sculptural, easier to live with in a space that doesn’t need the color.
Cardinals carry meaning for a lot of people. A visit from someone no longer here. The white form holds that quietly — the shape is unmistakably a cardinal, but it moves with the room rather than demanding it.
The scale is right for a mantel, a bookshelf, or a windowsill. It doesn’t demand attention. It holds its ground.
Next to a stack of records. At the end of a bookshelf. On a mantel that doesn’t need one more thing but is better for having it.
Marked on the base: CV 111, Goebel, W. Germany, 1969. Krobek signature molded into the tail.
Approximately 6.25” tall. No chips, no cracks, no repairs.
