Four matched Art Deco handled dishes by Noritake, marked with the M in wreath, the Morimura Brothers mark registered in 1918 and used through World War II. Hand painted in Japan, not transferred. Bold yellow ground, geometric black banding, two-flower floral center in pink, yellow, green and blue. Each dish 4 inches.
Consistent with the form and period, these are likely individual lemon or bon bon dishes, a staple of the inter-war Japanese export tea service.
This pattern has not surfaced in the US market. The only comparable listing found was in Japan. Four pieces, matched, no chips, no cracks.
